Water Quality & Utility Services

The Water Quality & Utility Services division ensures safe, reliable drinking water by overseeing treatment, distribution, testing, and hydrant maintenance throughout Silver Falls. The system draws from a protected groundwater source and is monitored year-round for compliance with Wisconsin DNR and EPA regulations.

Water Testing, Quality Reports & Conservation

The division performs routine sampling for bacteria, lead, copper, nitrates, and emerging contaminants. Results are compiled annually in the Consumer Confidence Report, published each spring. Water hardness data, seasonal advisories, and conservation tips—such as recommended irrigation schedules and leak detection steps—are provided to help residents manage usage efficiently.

Hydrant Maintenance

Fire hydrants are flushed twice per year to maintain water clarity and verify system performance. Temporary discoloration may occur but clears quickly after running the tap.

Utility Billing & Meter Services

The division manages water meter installations, replacements, leak checks, and billing questions. Residents can request start/stop service when moving, update account information, or inquire about high-usage alerts. Staff also provide information on payment timelines, estimated bills, and assistance programs for qualifying households.
