The City of Silver Falls Building Department is responsible for ensuring that all construction, renovation, and development within the city meets the standards of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, as well as local zoning and property maintenance regulations.

Our team works closely with homeowners, contractors, architects, and developers to support safe, high-quality growth throughout the community. From reviewing plans and issuing permits to conducting inspections and enforcing codes, the Building Department plays a key role in protecting public safety and maintaining the character of Silver Falls’ neighborhoods and commercial districts.

In addition to building code enforcement, the department oversees zoning compliance, responds to property maintenance concerns, and provides staff support to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. Whether you’re starting a home improvement project, opening a business, or preparing a new development, our staff is here to guide you through the permitting and inspection process.

The department handles building inspections, code enforcement, zoning review, permit processing, and property maintenance compliance.

Marcus Lee, the Zoning & Plan Review Technician, reviews site plans and zoning compliance and prepares items for the Planning and Zoning Boards.

Permit applications are handled by Permit Coordinator Leah Schofield, who processes forms and routes them for review.
