The Police Department works to maintain a safe, welcoming, and connected community throughout Silver Falls. Officers focus on neighborhood-based policing that emphasizes trust, transparency, and communication. The department balances proactive crime prevention with education, outreach, and responsiveness to community needs.

The agency places strong importance on developing positive relationships with residents, schools, and local organizations. Patrol officers, school resource staff, and community officers regularly engage with residents to address safety concerns and support problem-solving at the neighborhood level. The department also collaborates with regional law enforcement partners to support emergency response and specialized investigations when needed.

The Police Department is committed to public safety while respecting the character of Silver Falls’ neighborhoods, riverfront trails, and public spaces. Efforts prioritize fair treatment, accountability, and maintaining a visible presence that helps residents feel safe in daily life.

The Police Department is led by Chief Martin R. Cole.

 

Patrol operations are supervised by Patrol Lieutenant Daniel Harrow and supported by Patrol Sergeant Evan Morales.

Investigations are overseen by Investigations Sergeant Lila Brenner with support from Detective James Kessler.
