The City of Silver Falls encourages residents to take an active role in shaping the community’s future. Boards, Commissions, and Advisory Committees give residents a structured way to participate in local government, provide input on public initiatives, and ensure that decisions reflect the city’s values, environmental priorities, and neighborhood character.

These groups review proposals, advise the Mayor and City Council, and support thoughtful planning throughout the city. All members are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.

Silver Falls is a riverfront city shaped by collaboration and a shared commitment to stewardship. Our advisory bodies help to:

  • Support responsible planning along the Silver River corridor
  • Protect the character of historic neighborhoods and downtown districts
  • Expand opportunities for community participation
  • Ensure public services remain accessible, fair, and effective
  • Promote cultural vibrancy, public spaces, and local identity
  • Strengthen environmental resilience and sustainability
