The Silver Falls Fire & Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department provides fire suppression, rescue response, emergency medical care, hazardous materials response, and public safety education for residents, businesses, and visitors. The department works to protect life, property, and the natural environment, particularly the wooded river corridor along the Silver River and surrounding neighborhoods.

Fire & EMS personnel are trained to respond to a wide range of emergencies, including structure fires, wildland brush incidents, vehicle collisions, cardiac and medical emergencies, technical rescues, and severe weather impacts. The department collaborates with regional partners, state wildfire teams, medical facilities, and law enforcement to ensure efficient coordinated response.

In addition to emergency response, the department places strong emphasis on prevention and education. Inspectors work with local businesses and property owners to ensure compliance with fire safety standards. Outreach teams provide training, smoke alarm installations, CPR education, school programs, and seasonal safety campaigns. Fire & EMS staff also support community preparedness planning and neighborhood resilience initiatives.
